I tend to listen to albums on repeat for months on end and binge read dark romance novels. I have now made it a point to get back into TV and movies. I bought myself a TV in December with the goal of getting back to Apple Fitness workouts but while life demotivated me the media seduced me. Keep reading for my thoughts on my entertainment.

Music
This love letter to Puerto Rico is something I didn’t know I needed. This is a summer party album for me. It’s so good that it pissed me off that it was freezing outside and the album did not match the cold vibes Mother Nature was giving.
I listen to this and get into a dark alluring mood. My parents absolutely hated this album but I love it. While my goddaughter accused Rauw of ruining old school music, I appreciated his “Tu Con El” cover. It’s not better than the original salsa cover but it’s good. This was one of the albums I turned to when I would walk home from work.
I’m not going to lie (NGL), see what I did there lol, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this EP. I was not a big fan of “Porcelain” because I felt like I spent 2 minutes and 30 seconds for the beat to fully drop and it never did. However, this was a good listen. I’m more of an R&B girlie and the last half of the EP is where it was at for me. “Ready to Love” is my favorite track.
This was the album I turned to when I couldn’t relate to “DeBí TiRAR MáS FOToS.” I absolutely love all of BANKS stripped/unplugged versions of her songs. They speak to me on a different level. I do wish she included tracks from the deluxe version, especially “Before I Ever Met You.”
As of right now I can’t decide if I like this album or not. I’m conflicted because listening to it at home I can get into it but while I’m working I can’t. This can be my fault so I will hold off on any final thoughts because I definitely need to listen to it some more.
I started listening to this at work. I guess I didn’t learn from listening to The Weeknd’s album. When I gave it a listen after work, this album reminded me of BANKS debut album “Goddess.” The tone of the album is dark, which is how my mind associates her. I live for BANKS dark mood. I hope I get the chance to see her on tour. So far my favorite song is “Meddle in the Mold” because of its melodic rap and the strings are perfect!
This was my first Mariah Carey album that I bought back in 2005. I was already a fan since listening to my dad’s cassette tape of “Mariah Carey” during the 90s. Throughout the years as I discovered English music, I became familiar with her singles but never listened to a full album until “The Emancipation of Mimi” came out. I love this album! It has so many good songs besides the singles that were released. I was surprised that I still remembered the lyrics when I listened to it again.

Books
- Hooked (Never After #1) | Emily McIntire
- Scarred (Never After #2) | Emily McIntire
- Wretched (Never After #3) | Emily McIntire
- Twisted (Never After #4) | Emily McIntire
Because this is a series I will be working on a series review once I am done. I believe I have 2 more books to read. As of right now, “Hooked” is my least favorite and “Twisted” is my favorite. I am currently reading the fifth book in the series.
- The Forbidden Freshman (Nolan U Hockey #1) | Katy Archer
- The Heart Stealer (Nolan U Hockey #2) | Katy Archer
This book is also part of a series that I will be posting a review on once I’m done. I started this series because I needed a change of pace from the dark romance genre. College sports romances are usually my go to for those instances. I will probably continue this series once I am done with the “Never After” series.
I listened to the audiobook. I think I would’ve liked this better if I read it. I missed some clues because of my multitasking when listening to this. I realized Theo was problematic from the way he met his wife and the beginning of their relationship. As the book continues he became even more questionable. Because of this the big reveal in the end is not even surprising.
This book had me in a state of disbelief. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how no one went looking for the main character, not even her mom. And speaking of the main character, she was a shitty person. She would be a person that I would not want in my life. I listened to this book as well and the multiple character POVs were extremely confusing. Some of them were even pointless. I could’ve skipped this book.

TV – Movies – Deep Dives
Boy oh boy, do I have THOUGHTS on this! I am gathering my thoughts to make a post on this.
I thought this was a cute romantic comedy. It was an enemies to lovers trope, which I enjoyed. Bea and Ben’s banter was fun and one of my favorite scenes was the rehearsal dinner. Bea’s parents were wrong for inviting her ex and Ben was confusing with his so-called feelings for his own ex. I also felt like it was weird for both of their exes to be in Australia for the wedding. They should’ve came up with a different scenario for dramatic purposes than the typical “my ex is back in the picture.”
- The Fast & The Furious Franchise (10 movies)
I started this series because I peeped that the movies were leaving Netflix. While the movies are entertaining, is the series ever going to end? It’s come a really long way from the first movie and the action is not even believable any more. Favorite movie of the series is the very first one, “The Fast and the Furious.”
I used to watch wrestling back in the day so I know of Vince McMahon. It broke down Vince McMahon the character, which my young brain didn’t really comprehend back in the day. I always wondered why the CEO was very active in storylines, like shouldn’t he be doing CEO stuff? Now I know it was a character for our entertainment. It was also interesting seeing the dynamic between Vince and Stephanie vs Vince and Shane. Even from what I remembered Stephanie always seemed like the favorite. The fact that the series was filmed before the Janel Grant lawsuit was a misservice. I would’ve liked to see commentary on the allegations, although I’m sure people would’ve just lied or said they couldn’t speak about it.
I watched this solely because it came out in the early 2000s and hadn’t seen it in a while. Jennifer has always been a better actress than singer and now I’m thinking I need to watch her romantic comedies, especially the ones from the 2000s.
I found this movie to be problematic. From the parents to Jennifer Lawrence’s character “Maddie.” Maddie was not a good person, and although they demonstrated that several times throughout the movie, the way she came onto Percy was obnoxious. I understand that she was desperate and the movie is a comedy but girl was out there doing too much. She did have a redemption arc but I don’t think it justified her actions.
I picked this movie because Lindsay Lohan was in it. This was another cute romantic comedy. Although it was predictable it was entertaining. I did not like Paul, the author (and I say that loosely), because he was an asshole. I did not understand why Lindsay Lohan’s “Maddie” was into him. What I was most surprised about was Ayesha Curry. I had no idea she was an actress as well.
- Ash Trevino Deep Dives:
I will admit that the only reason why I watched these deep dives is because I was trying to understand why she was problematic and I did not want to use TikTok for that. This woman is wild! It’s like a really bad train wreck and it’s content that I am not into so it’s not a surprise why she never popped up on my page. After watching these deep dives, I don’t know why people continue to support. All she cares about is herself and her daughters are getting the short end of the stick. And this only scratches the surface, she is alot more problematic. She needs the kind of ban that USA users got when the app “shut down” for like 3 seconds, except hers should be permanent.
I know this was long but it was a two month recap. Have you listened, read, or watched anything from this list? What are your thoughts?
